Details on Prince Carl Philip's wedding

The royal wedding banquet was held at the Royal Palace of Stockholm, and the menu was as follows:

MENU

White asparagus "Princess Sofia" cooked in elderflower juice with roe from Älvdalen, asparagus and chive emulsion
*
Langoustine simmered with coriander served with grilled scallop, yuzu dressing, wood sorrel and split peas
*
Fried, lightly cured Hjälmaren pike-perch with grilled spring vegetables, caramelised crème fraîche and smoked butter
*
Peach and raspberry tartelette with white chocolate, champagne and peach sorbet

During the dinner, The King gave a speech in which he said: "It really is striking, just how much happiness and togetherness that you, Sofia and Carl Philip have found in each other. It is genuinely pleasing to see how you both bring out the best in each other. How you cooperate and complement each other, and how you support each other – in both the big and little things."

Princess Sofia's father, Mr Erik Hellqvist, also gave a speech in which he said: "Carl-Philip, I won’t ask you to look after my daughter. She has always managed that fine herself.  But I do ask you both to continue to take good care of each other."
Prince Carl Philip gave the final speech, saying: "I have got a lot left to learn in life, and a lot left to do. It is a long road, and I am immensely looking forward to travelling it with you. But I've already learnt the most important thing I need to know, and that is: love conquers all."
After the wedding banquet, the wedding cake – which had been made by the Swedish National Pastry Team – was served.
The evening concluded with dancing in Karl XI's Gallery.

Princess Madeleine

Apparently I still have a lot of pics of Princess Madeleine of Sweden that I haven't posted. Enjoy!

Madeleine was born on 10 June 1982 at Drottningholm Palace in Stockholm County and is a member of the Swedish Royal Family which belongs to the House of Bernadotte.

Madeleine is fourth in line of succession to the Swedish throne (behind her sister, Crown Princess Victoria; her niece, Princess Estelle, and her brother, Prince Carl Philip). Her fourth name, Josephine, honours her ancestor Josephine of Leuchtenberg.

On 11 August 2009, Princess Madeleine announced her engagement to her boyfriend since 2002, lawyer Jonas Bergström (b. 1979). The Princess said in her engagement interview that they became engaged in Capri in early June 2009. An engagement dinner took place on the engagement day in Solliden Palace on Öland. The engagement could only take place after Bergström had been awarded the official approval of the Swedish Cabinet Regeringen and that had been communicated to her father, the King.

It had been announced in 2009 that after the wedding, Bergström was to be referred to as Duke of Hälsingland and Gästrikland to correspond with Madeleine's title.  The wedding was originally to take place in the second half of 2010 but was postponed due to "many things happening in an intense period of time", mainly her sister Victoria's wedding in June. Despite rumours of relationship issues, Queen Silvia stated in April 2010 that the couple was "fine" and that everything was "okay".

However, media reporting of the relationship issues escalated, and on 24 April 2010 it was announced that the wedding would not be going ahead, and the engagement was broken off. After her relationship with Bergström ended, the Princess moved to New York City, where she is working for the World Childhood Foundation, the organization that her mother co-founded. On 25 October 2012, the Swedish Royal Court announced her engagement with the financier Christopher O'Neill

On 23 December 2012, the royal family announced that Princess Madeleine's wedding would take place on 8 June 2013, at the Royal Palace chapel in Stockholm. Members of various royal families attended the wedding, and Princess Madeleine wore a Valentino Haute Couture wedding gown.

Their daughter Princess Leonore, Duchess of Gotland was born in New York City on 20 February 2014. Prior to the birth, Madeleine had announced on her Facebook page that she would be unable to travel to Stockholm for the Nobel Prize ceremony due to her pregnancy and also mentioned that she was expecting a girl.
